BIOGRAPHY

Ferdinand PARPAN (1902-2004)

Sculptor and Painter (1902-2004). Born at the beginning of the 20th century, sculptor PARPAN participates in all the movements of this splendid era. His art is particularly affirmed in a synthetic search of forms between cubism and impressionism, which never moves away from figuration, as in the series so much appreciated by musicians. He also expresses his talent in highly stylized animals, sometimes close to those of Pompon, and in the glorification of the female body. He practices with equal happiness the direct carving, on stone or on wood, and especially the modeling which allows the casting of the bronze,  the most accomplished form of his art.
