Victor GINGEMBRE (Born 1988)
Victor Gingembre is passioned for sculpture since he’s six years old. Starting with drawing and modelling, he manipulates the soil and the bronze in Hans Marks’workshop and Arnaud Kasper’workshop. At 8, he discovered marble in Maurizio Toffeletti’s workshop, which accepted him among adults students; then, in Carrara, he discovered passion for material and atmosphere of quarry. Sculpting marble is a real study of light and form’s sensibility. After an initial figurative work, the artist’s research aim to a personal inspiration: new forms and materials refer to lines and endless volumes, end in perfect expression.
The artist approaches the design of women’s body, with tension, movement and sensuality, according to live model, glorifying his own vision more than reality. In this way, he creates symphony of colors, shades and structure, inspired by his artist’s eye and his hand which one translate sensation. Graduated in architecture in 2012, his formation influence his work, his sculptures become spatial and monumental inviting the spectator to be part of it. The exhibition in Louvre exposed a selection of a few of his imposing masterpieces.
