This “Bather” is cited among the most famous works of Marguerite Arosa. This work was exhibited at the Brussels Salon as well as at the Salon des Artistes français in Paris in 1884. Made with the greatest finesse, in a neo-classical style borrowed from naturalism, this young and beautiful naiad seems suspended in the air. The luxuriant vegetation of this summer day, the flowers, the water lilies and the dragonflies add to this composition a charm that is both sensual and mysterious.
