Henri GERVEX Nu devant un Psyché
Henri GERVEX (1852-1929)
Witness of the Paris of the Belle-Epoque, Henri GERVEX is one of the most famous artists of his time. Scandalous with “Rolla”, he was loved by critics and the public. In his intimate and sensual compositions, staging modest young women and graceful ballerinas, GERVEX was always recognized as the “painter of the woman”, remembers the lessons of DEGAS and as here, puts the accent on the effects of light, on the complexions, tissues and familiar objects with feminine coquetry.
