Jean-Pierre VASARELY dit YVARAL (1924-2001)

 

 

Born January 25, 1934 in Paris and died August 4, 2002 in the same city, is a French painter. Son of Victor Vasarely, Yvaral is the co-founder in the late fifties of G.R.A.V., the Visual Art Research Group, including SOTO, CRUZ-DIEZ, AGAM, Julio LE PARC and François MORELLET. Closely linked to the movement of kinetic art and Op Art, Yvaral experimented during his career with different technicals to create an innovative visual language. Cubic structures, digital art, structural horizons are part of his artistic universe. Yvaral has also made numerous public and private commissions in the advertising fields (Renault logo for example) or related to urban planning (facade of the building RTL rue Bayard in Paris).
