Paul-Dominique PHILIPPOTEAUX (1845 -1923)

 



Born in 1845 in Paris, 19th Century, french. History painter. He was the son of Felix Philippoteaux (1815-1884). He studied in his father’s  studio, after a scholarship at the Beaux Arts, in Paris. Then, he worked in Léon Cogniet’s and Alexandre Cabanel’s studios. He was interested in history painting, and he was well-known for his artworks on that topic. From 1886 to 1867, he exposed at the French Salon, in Paris.
